Donut Kabobs

Every now & then, fun food is in order!
That's exactly what this is.

After all, donut holes and strawberries are pretty divine all by themselves ...
but put 'em on a stick & and you've got a fun breakfast party!

We have a fellowship meal at church each Sunday & oftentimes, it's a breakfast theme.
I was in the mood to make/take something different.
Now, I'm pretty sure there's a kabob of every kind known to man on Pinterest
so it was easy to get inspiration from there.
I decided to go for simple & sweet.
Powdered sugar & chocolate donut holes with a juicy, red strawberry in between.
They were a bit hit!

I don't have a littles at home anymore (all mine are grown),
but wouldn't this be a fun way to start the morning?
Imagine waking up for school and finding these fun donut kabobs for breakfast!
And for some reason, I keep thinking Valentine's Day ...
these would be a sweet treat for a simple & fun Valentine's breakfast?!

And no slaving away over the stove for this breakfast hit.
That's a bonus for mom.

Have a good weekend everyone & as always, thanks for visiting Call Her Blessed <3

If You Could See Where I Am, You Wouldn't Cry

Aren't those lyrics beautiful?
So simple but they make you think ... daydream even.
Losing a loved one has got to be the most difficult thing anyone experiences here on earth,
but what a comfort to know that if they die in Christ, they will live again!
They have gained their eternal reward!

Heaven is real ... & I love to think about what it's like there.
I know that my simple finite mind can't even begin to grasp, can't even scratch the surface
of the beauty & splendor that Heaven holds.

When we think of our loved ones there, beholding the beauty,
seeing the saints, meeting Jesus ... it's exciting, really!
Although our hearts are sad down here because we miss them & want to keep them forever,
we would never for one minute call them back!
And one of these days when God calls us home, we will see them again.
What a promise.

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—1 Corinthians 2:9

The September Slow

In September
for a while
I will ride
a crocodile
down the
chicken soupy Nile.
Paddle once
paddle twice
paddle chicken soup
with rice.
