My First Tea Party

This summer has been FULL of fun.
All sorts of fun.
And you know, I've come to a conclusion.
God has FILLED my summer,
the summer before our twin sons get married,
with 'diversions', one after another.
Otherwise, I may have been balled up in a fetal position, rocking myself back & forth.
It wouldn't have been pretty.

I've fallen behind on sharing all the fun on the blog.
There are just another couple big things that I wanted to catch up on.
First up, you have just got to see this tea party I went to in late June.

This is my friend, Mandy, who hosted this perfect afternoon tea party!
This is her 2nd annual Mother-Daughter Tea & I was delighted to be invited.

The event was held in Mandy's beautiful backyard.
I felt like I was in the middle of a storybook.
It was Downton Abbey meets Alice in Wonderland meets Sense & Sensibility.

The tables were delicately set & the pom poms were hanging gracefully from the tree branches
& thankfully, the weather completely cooperated.

Mandy's flower garden provided the most perfect flowers to adorn the table, alongside the china.

Mandy had a guest registry book for us all to sign.
This is Miss Natalya, trying to figure out if she likes grass or not.

This was my seat for the day, complete with my handmade place card.

The scripture was Mandy's chosen topic & she shared an encouraging word for us all.
Although the whole tea party was perfect, this was the highlight for me.
It was the 'word' I needed at that very moment.
God is always SO good like that.

Mandy had each lady to share something special about our mother or our daughter.
It was sweet {& tearful} to hear the ladies reminisce.

Even the little gals were listening intently.

I only took one or two pictures of the refreshments.
I'm not the greatest photographer & the sun was so bright that it effected the lighting in a few of these.

I loved these little sugar cookies that Katie made ... especially the one with the anchor on it.

The day wrapped up with a game of Croquet, but not before we all took some pictures.
It's not everyday that you wear a fabulous hat, after all.

I will never forget spending the afternoon with these great friends.
My first tea party, & hopefully not my last, will live in my memory always.
