You're a grand old flag! You're a high flying flag!
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of the land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true 'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
And forever in peace may you wave.

My favorite of the red, white, & blues has got to be the vintage-looking ones ...
the ones where the white is yellowed some ... the blue & red looks like they have a story to tell.
I love getting the porch decked out in all her finery this time of year.
The buntings are just peaking through the leaves.
And there's definitely something to be said this gorgeous, gorgeous Indiana green!
I just can't get enough of it!
This is my first year to have begonias, but I'm positive it won't be my last.
They are so hardy and vibrant.
I am loving my flower pots this years ... well, not necessarily the pots, but the plants!
I bought 3 hanging baskets at Meijer for $5 each & transplanted them into the pots.
The only thing I added was the green plant in the front.
I love the pots too, though ... they just got a make-over!
These are the ones James found sitting out at the curb for trash pick-up
a few years ago.
We decided to paint them black this spring {they were cream} & I love how they turned out.
To round out the porch is the door mat that sums it all up ... we are indeed blessed.
This pot is super fun ... again, another $5 hanging basket transplanted into the pot.
I did this because I don't like waiting for the plants to grow tall!
I want them BIG from the start ;)
This one sits at the opposite far end of the garage.
My little flag makes me happy in all sorts of ways.
And if you know me much at all, you know one of the reasons why.
Along with the blooming Black-Eyed Susans is the bucket full of red petunias.
Sure glad you stopped by to enjoy our porch & flowers ... and most of all, the stars & stripes.
Hope your fourth is fun & filled with lots of patriotic things ... fireworks, food, & family.
And be sure to think about the sacrifice made by so many in order for us to enjoy our freedom.
God Bless America
Who doesn't love a good party?!
