A Glimpse of Life Through Phone Pics 2

You know, I tried SO incredibly hard to get this post up on Friday.
I really did.
But life happens.
I want to stay in keeping with the 'Phone Pic Friday', but at this rate,
I'm not sure how well that is going to work out.
So, here I am again, posting 'not on Friday'! ;)

Here's the 2nd installment of life according to my phone pics.
The phone pics tell the story.

Aren't these berries just perfect?
They are growing on a tree along my walking route.

Here's another one of those pics that I like to message to James so he can think
about the yummy dinner waiting for him when he gets home.
He's been on a turkey kick lately.
Thanksgiving in July.

I know it's silly, but I couldn't resist a picture of this rigged up trash shoot at a bank in town.
How fun it must be to toss down the trash.
{ok, I'm sure the average construction worker doesn't see this as fun, but I would!}

Last week, James & I went to Amish Country for our anniversary.
This shelf of fabric {& a few following pictures} was in a small country Amish Store
that was right in someone's yard.
{I am working on a post & can't wait to tell you all about our trip.}

 This little store well stocked with all the items their Amish neighbors may need.

James had to try on a hat ... quite handsome if I say so myself.

These little knee socks brought back so many memories.
When I was a little girl, I either wore these, or tights in the same pattern,
nearly every day in the winter months.

 Look at these itty bitty ones.

I was a bit surprised that there were ready-made outfits for sale in this store.
I guess I just figured that every Amish momma knows how to sew & wouldn't have a need
to purchase clothing items.
Could be that they are outfits for tourists to buy as keepsakes ... ?

This was my favorite ... a table full of Amish hats, on clearance to boot.
See, everybody likes a clearance sale, even the Amish!

I snapped this pic at another Amish store ... it's crunchy ocra.

Here are a few pics taken at Amish Acres in Napanee, Indiana.
James is playing the ring game which he got on the 3rd try.

I love this beautiful plant all bloomed out in white.
Wish I had some growing on my patio.

From this blog post, this pic is my favorite.
This is right outside of our room at Oakwood Resort where we spent our anniversary weekend.
I know, right?!
On this particular morning, we counted at least 17 sailboats!
You can see them in the distance.
This was such a peaceful way to start the day.

James was hoping this was his anniversary gift ;)
I love how the rays of sunshine are shining down in this shot.

We are foodies, so when we are enjoying something yummy, we usually snap a pic.
This one is no exception.
We stopped at a little ice cream shop called Scoops & boy, it did not disappoint.
This is my treat:  one scoop of yellow cake & one scoop of oatmeal cookie in a waffle cone.
To this day, I've never had ice cream as good as the oatmeal cookie ... my new favorite flavor.
I've never seen that flavor around here, which is good cause I'd want it all too often.

We determined at the beginning of our anniversary trip that we would only eat at non-chain restaurants ...
only local or interesting new food adventures.
That's exactly what we did, with the exception of Pizza King.
The deal here was that this Pizza King sat right on the lake & you could purchase tickets for a
double-decker steamboat ride on the Dixie {which was one of the most fun things we did}.
The pizza was great & the breadsticks were the legit Pizza King breadsticks!
{For those of you that love PK, you know what I mean by that!}
I had to snap a pic of these to send to my friend who loves these as much as I do ;)

This was on our last morning at Lake Wawasee.
Ahh ...what a marvelous time together we had here.

And lastly, this is a funny one.
I snapped this to send to James ... to tell him that this green tote & the things on top of it
had just fallen on my head!!
It sits on the upper shelf in my closet & just as I was getting something from the shelf below,
this tote, full of keepsake blankets & clothing from when the boys were babies, fell off onto my head!
Luckily, I hunched over as I heard it falling & my shoulder got the brunt of the hit.
Good grief.
{Excuse my messy closet ... unpacking from the weekend!}

I love my phone pics, no matter how random, silly, yummy, or blurry they may be.
Cause it's my life, little snippets at a time.
