Head cold, sinus issues, allergies ... one or the other or all three.
Not quite sure what was going on, but it's been a rough couple weeks.
Gunnar was sick right along with me & Riley was not far behind.
Something about a nose that's stuffy one second & running the next ...
and the pressure in a head & the cough that soon follows, well, it all has a way of draining you.
And the meds, they completely zap my personality.
It's kinda like I flat-line altogether.
Combine that with the everyday riggers of life & the rainy weather ...
& we wind up with dark clouds, folks, dark clouds.
It feels like they've been hovering over my head, my spirit, & my heart.
I've been fighting it though ... trying hard not to give in to it.
And ya know, there have been a couple silver linings.
Aren't there always silver linings in our dark clouds?
The first one came in the way of my pretty purple irises.
Planted in our front flower bed, the blooms peek through the living room window as soon as they open.
I get so giddy when I see them for the first time.
Kinda makes spring official when the flowers start blooming.
Aren't they gorgeous?!
And look at all the blooms that are just waiting on their turn to open.
Course, we can't overlook the dwarf Japanese Maple, a Mother's Day gift from James
and the boys a couple years back.
Now the next 'silver lining', well, it was a blinged out, sparkly silver lining!!
Be prepared to set your eyes on the cutest little 'get well' gift you ever did see.
See!
I told ya!
And the card, I'm completely in love with it!
Sweet Carissa, Garrett's girlfriend, brought me this adorable soup mug filled with get-well goodies:
2 purse packs of kleenex, lip balm, the cutest tin of tea {that was for scratchy throats}, & a fresh lemon.
I promptly made myself a cup of that tea & you know what, it totally did help my scratchy throat!
Not only did this gift cheer my spirits & soothe my throat, it was so beautiful to look at ...
some of my favorite things like twine, printed paper, & this flower accessory.
Oh, I just love it ... love it!
It's still sitting on my counter & makes me feel loved every time I look at it.
And I didn't even mention that Carissa brought me this gift the evening she came down to
teach me how to use my sewing machine!
That's right ... she taught me how to sew on my new machine!
Let me tell ya, this girl is a keeper.
See, silver linings.
There's always a silver lining.
Oh, I almost forgot ... as of today, another fun silver lining!
My little bloggity blog was featured on A Bowl Full of Lemons.
The post about Gunnar's raised bed garden that he built was her pick from the link party.
I was so pumped when I logged on & found it.
She has lots of blog followers ... & almost 30,000 Facebook followers ...
which adds up to quite a bit of exposure for my little blog here.
That means I better straighten up & fly right, huh?!
So sorry you are sick! Hope you are feeling better. Praying for you!
